Exceedingly Abundantly
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. Ephesians 3:20
At times do you feel as if you can impress God with all you are trying to do for Him and for His church? One thing I can tell you for sure, you will never set a goal so big or attempt a task so significant that God does not have something far greater that He could do in or through your life. The Apostle Paul said that he worked harder than anyone else to impress God when he was Saul of Tarsus. However, he discovered that his greatest achievements were, but rubbish compared to God’s will for his life, Philippians 3:7-8. Our problem is that we become too easily enamored with our plans. If we are attempting to do noble things and believe that God will be pleased, we need to remember, until we hear from God, we cannot even imagine what He can accomplish through us! Having said that, I believe God is calling us to take discipleship seriously. Those that have joined the 3- existing groups are reading God’s Word daily, they are joining together to fellowship, pray, and study God’s Word each week. Also, they are joining together to minister within our church family. In other words, they are becoming disciples of Christ! We are not trying to do great things to impress God, but rather we are allowing God to work through us! Remember that God sees the big picture, that His power far exceeds our limited imaginations. We must set aside our agendas, however lofty they may be and follow God’s direction. When we follow Him, we will witness things happening that can only be explained by His powerful presence! Please join a Life Group! This will change you and it will change our church!

Tithing Thought March 2022
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also, Matthew 6:21 If you have a red-letter Bible, you will notice these words are in red-meaning that Jesus said them. Therefore, where you spend your money does make a difference! When you tithe the first thing you will notice is the amount of money that you have for the Lord’s work. The second thing you will notice is the ease you have in meeting your own obligations. Why? Because tithing does make a difference in your outlook! If you are tithing, you know what I am talking about. You are seeing spiritual growth in your life. Thank you for supporting the Lord’s work through Damascus Baptist Church! If you are not tithing, I challenge you to do so. Your spiritual vision will improve leading to a deeper more meaningful walk with the Lord. Truly, where your treasure is, there your heart will be also!
